Laura Sychold started to take pictures when she was a teenager and got a camera from her parents. This camera followed her a long time, the pictures at her first exhibition 1992 were taken with it. Already then her favourite motives were nature and its details.

1992-93 Laura got a fine opportunity to work as a project-employeed at Malmö museum, she was working with old nitrate-negatives, cleaning and fileing them. She was also taught darkroom-work which she continued at home. One of Lauras pictures was also in a big historical display which was shown for thousands of visitors at the museum.

Photographing has followed Laura in her life as a hobby and source of inspiration and as therapy. Favourite motives are still nature, old buildings, and also a new experimental style with almost abstract pictures. The own little daughter is also a favourite motive.

Marriage and motherhood took under some years thoughts away from photographing, but now the time is ready to go on with it, this time with the family.

Laura has also photographed many of her friends weddings and done children- and petphotographing.

"The technical side of photographing comes more and more difficult and important, I don´t want to put to much weight on it even though I use a modern camera and need technic to take care of my pictures. The beauty is anyway still in the motive, the creation. I want to make people stop and notice the beautyful things we are surrounded by, those small details what you can´t see when the speed is high. It´s also possible to find beauty in sometimes strange places."
